Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Today I'm sharing some Halloween Test Tube Candy Box Holders that I created! I'm linking them up to the current "Anything Goes" Challenge at Simon Says Stamp :)

These were so much fun to make!!!!

I started out with a template that I found on Lisa Somerville's site (www.lisasomerville.com), but it turned out to be too small for the particular test tubes that I had purchased at Michaels. So, I revised the box template to fit my needs. They're a bit different from Lisa's but still super cute!!!

I decorated the boxes and filled the tubes with Halloween candy :) I left the back panel of the boxes blank so there was room to write in "to/from" and a short message.

Thanks for visiting!

Have a spooktacular day!!!

Congrats. You Did It!

Popping in really quickly today to share a card I made for the current CASology Challenge. This time around the cue word is "sunset."

Here's my card:

I layered up the Cloud Stencil from MFT and one of the Masking Rectangle Stencils from Taylored Expressions. Then I blended Scatttered Straw, Carved Pumpkin and Barn Door Distress Oxide Inks (Ranger) to create a sunset background for the airplane silhouette.

Mailing this off to our oldest nephew who just got his wings!!! He's now officially a Naval Aviator with the US Marine Corps!!! We're so proud of him!

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Thanks for visiting!

Thanks

Happy Saturday! Today I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches :)

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

These Leaf Silhouette Dies from Papertrey Ink are an oldie but goodie :) I chose an earthy color palette for this first card (Ocean Tides, Soft Stone, and Canyon Clay). I'm really loving that combo!

This layout was so super fun that I just had to make another card in a different color combo. For the second card I went with a brighter look:

Which one do you like better?

Thanks for visiting!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! We're doing our snow dance around here! Hoping for big snow after midnight tonight and through Monday morning! Would definitely help a lot with all of the fires that are burning here in Colorado.

Sending Hugs and Get Well Soon

Today I'm playing along with the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge :)

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

I love the little critters in Lawn Fawn's Get Well Before 'N Afters set! So cute!!! My neighbor girlfriend, Kim, fractured her patella (yikes!) and is recovering from surgery, so I'll be delivering this to her mailbox very soon. Hoping it makes her smile :) She's an avid hiker and is already going stir crazy just one week out of surgery, so I added a sentiment inside:

My dad also had surgery earlier this week (for carpal tunnel), so I made another card to snail mail to him. The layout is the same, but I changed up the images :)

Hope he likes it!

I had so much fun making these cards!!!

Thanks for visiting! And please pray and send positive energy to our state of Colorado. The fires are still burning and growing. It's really scary! They've even closed the National Forests in our county and surrounding counties in an effort to keep people safe and prevent more fires from starting. The forecast is predicting snow for us for this weekend, so everybody do your snow dance!!! We need moisture!!!

You've Been Boo'd

Hello there! Today I'm playing along with the current Just Us Girls Challenge: Plaid.

I recently stumbled upon a tutorial by Julie (The Paper Pixie) for making these super fun Halloween Door Hangers! I was so excited to give it a try! Here's how it turned out:

I love these!!! And they're so much fun to make! The compartment measures 3" x 3" x 2" so it can hold a variety of treats :)

Like Julie says in her tutorial, these would be great to hang on neighbors' doors as little Halloween surprises!

With that in mind...I made some more...same template, just dressed up differently ;)

I'll call these my "adult version" (see "treat" idea in the photo below). After all, kids aren't the only ones who enjoy Halloween :)

You can find Julie's tutorial by clicking HERE. I'd highly recommend her blog and YouTube channel. She creates loads of clever projects!

Hope you're enjoying your weekend!!!

Thanks for visiting!

Smile

Hello there! Today I'm playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme this time around is "Anything Goes"---YAY!

I recently came across Paula Dobson's tutorial for tea bag and coffee holders on YouTube and decided to give it a go :) Here's how it turned out:

Lawn Fawn's Love You A Latte stamps and dies were perfect for dressing up the little holders, which were very simple to put together :) I tied the tops together with some jute twine and a felt leaf (I've literally been hoarding these things for YEARS!!! Time to put them to use---ha!)

I decided to make mine tea and chocolate square holders. The tea bag is in the front pocket and the chocolate is in the back pocket. Here's a look at the back:

I also inserted a small blank piece of cardstock in the back as a place to write a message. My color combo came from the contents of the package. Here's a look at all the pieces:

These were so much fun to make that I ended up creating a bunch more!

I REALLY wanted to use the to-go cup in the stamp set, so that sparked the idea of making a few more without the tea and chocolates (to use as gift card holders):

I still put a blank piece of cardstock in the back pocket as a place to write a message (and you could still put a chocolate in there too---why not, right?!?!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!
