Charcuterie

Today I'm sharing a card using this lovely sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches:

My folks gifted me some cash for stamping supplies for Christmas and I was super excited to use part of that to pick up the recently released Char-cute-rie stamps and dies from Avery Elle :) Such a cute and clever set (and you know I can't resist a good pun *wink)!!! I had tons of fun creating with them! Here's what I made:

I die-cut all of the pieces from white cardstock and then added color with ink and blending brushes. I die-cut the board from kraft cardstock and then embossed it to give it a woodgrain texture. Even added some white gel pen dots to the pretzels to make them salty :)

There are also some dies that cut strawberries, cookies, cherries, etc. so I made a "sweets" version too:

I still have a pile of pieces (and there's another board in the set too), so I'll definitely be creating more cards with these goodies very soon!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for visiting!

I Love You This Much!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for the Day of the Month Card Club Challenge: Penguin Awareness Day. I have to admit that lately I feel like I'm living in Antarctica with the penguins---it's been soooo cold and crazy windy here. And the forecast is calling for it to get even worse with wind chill factors at minus 25F on Sunday night and into Monday. Brrrr!!!

Well...January 20, 2024 is Penguin Awareness Day, so let's celebrate these adorable creatures with a card!

This is the Coloring Layering Baby Penguin from Hero Arts. So sweet, right?!?!!!

My card layout/fold was inspired by Kelly Acheson. Thank you, Kelly!!! You can find the directions for making this style of card on her blog www.astampabove.com

Here's a view of it opened up:

I always enjoy trying out different card folds and this is a fun one!

And of course I made a second one...same card just changed up the color:

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

You're Waffle-y Cute

Hello there! Sharing a card I created for the current Time Out Challenge: New

My card features some adorable new goodies I purchased from Lawn Fawn...and a super fun pop-up element that I learned from Jennifer McGuire.

When I saw the A Waffle Lot stamp set from Lawn Fawn I literally squealed with delight and knew I absolutely HAD to have it! I love puns and this is just so stinking cute!!!

Then...I was watching a replay of a Crafty Cohorts livestream that Jennifer McGuire did with Greg from Concord & 9th on January 8th. In that video she shows this super fun way to create a pop-up element on your card. I decided to give it a try on today's card. This is how it looks when you open it:

Isn't that fun?!?!!! And it was so easy to make AND required no special dies or supplies! Woohoo!!! You can find Jennifer's blog post and the video HERE. Highly recommend trying it out! It'll make you giddy :)

I was so giddy over mine that I had to make another one. This one is for my mom to give to my niece for Valentine's Day. My mom makes my niece breakfast every morning before taking her to school. My niece sometimes requests waffles...and when she does she likes to have them topped with whipped cream AND a chocolate chip in each of the little waffle dimples. She's been eating her waffles this same exact way for as long as I can remember (and she's 11 now). So, here's Mya's waffles (Although I couldn't quite fit a chocolate chip in each dimple---ha! This will have to do.)

I hope she gets a kick out of this card!!! I had tons of fun creating it!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you like what I've shared.

Have a great day!

You're The Coolest

Today I'm playing along with two challenges: (1) Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where this time around Simon Says: Cute Critters and (2) NBUS (Never-Before-Used-Schtuff) Challenge #58.

I've had this Bunny Slopes stamp set and coordinating dies (Neat & Tangled) in my stash for ages but this is my first time inking it up (gasp!!!). And I'm so glad I finally did because it's so stinkin' cute!!! I needed a birthday card for one of my neighbor girlfriends who loves to ski. Her birthday is in January so I was thinking I wanted to go with a winter/skiing theme for her card. Then I remembered her husband sharing this photo at some point on social media:

...and it was too perfect to pass up!

I pulled my color combo from the In The Alps 6x6 patterned paper from Catherine Pooler (rouge, polished, hot tub, skylight, stone blue, and juniper mist). I also had fun adding some white gel pen details to the images. The wintery weather has made the lighting a little tricky for photographing these days but I did my best :)

Thanks for visiting!

Have a fantastic day!!!

You're Cool

Happy Wednesday! Once again I'm popping in super quickly and at the last minute to play along with Inspired By Challenge #270: Snowman. I was inspired by both the theme and the sketch.

Here's my card:

I received this Snowman die set as a freebie with my recent Scrapbook.com order. The set contains just two dies---I ran them through my machine multiple times with a variety of cardstock and patterned papers and then pieced him all together. I think he turned out pretty cute! Oh...and the patterned paper is a 6x6 pack by Crate Paper from 2016 (insert big eye emoji here). I may have a serious patterned paper hoarding problem. Ha!

I hope you're all staying safe with the crazy weather that's happening all over the country. We've had some snow but not much yet (maybe 5 or 6 inches)---mostly crazy wind and frigid temps (it's currently 14 degrees F (minus 2F with the wind chill...brrr!!!). Perfect for staying inside and crafting!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!!!
