Thinking Of You

Today I'm sharing a card I made for the current Make The Cards Challenge.

This card was very much inspired by a video on Taylored Expressions' YouTube channel where Susan Block was creating fabulous gel prints. You can check out the video HERE.

I haven't jumped aboard the gel printing train (yet...wink) but I thought I could create something similar with heat embossing and ink blending. I'm really happy with how it turned out :)

Thanks for visiting!

Have a great week!!!

I Just Wanted To Send You A Hug

Happy Sunday! Sneaking one in under the wire today and playing along with CASology Week 400: Affection :)

I have a box full of stamped and die-cut images, stamped sentiments, die-cut background panels, etc from craft retreats that I attended pre-pandemic. I recently went through this box and sorted the bits---determined to start putting them to good use. Today's card uses several of these items:

I thought these adorable bunnies from Fuzzy Hugs (Mama Elephant) were a perfect fit for the CASology cue word, "affection." The sentiment is also from this same set. So sweet!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

LOVING this color combo! I blended Hot Tub, Bay Breeze and Sea Glass from Catherine Pooler and then stamped those gorgeous butterflies (from Taylored Expressions) in Juniper Mist :) The sentiment is heat embossed in Queen's Gold (Ranger).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cheers To Many More Years

Today I'm sharing a card I created using the sketch over at Fusion Card Challenge :)

Here's the sketch:

...and here's my take on it:

My husband and I (and many of our mountain friends) really enjoy craft beers, especially local IPAs, so when I saw this Hoppy Days set from Taylored Expressions there was no way I could resist purchasing it! Plus, it was a perfect fit for creating this birthday card for my dad who loves his Coors Light :) Two frosty mugs to toast his special day!

I hope he likes it!

Thanks for visiting!!!

Have a great week!

Congrats

Happy Monday! My card for today was inspired by the current Time Out Challenge which is to CASE the incredibly talented and super sweet Michele Ferguson! Here's a look at Michele's gorgeous card:

The timing for this CASE'ing couldn't be more perfect. Our neighbor friends' daughter is getting married soon and they asked me to create an extra special card for them to give to her on her extra special day. They wanted something that coordinates with the wedding colors/theme----vintage blue, lemons and their daughter's favorite flowers (Gerbera Daisies). So, taking all of that info AND the adorned die-cut heart idea from Michele's card...here's what I came up with:

I had so much fun making this!!! I really hope they'll like it :)

Thanks for visiting!!! And thanks to Michele and Time Out Challenges for the inspiration!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Cheers To You

Today I'm playing along with AAA Birthday Challenge 34 - "Pattern." When I see the word "pattern" I can't help but think patterned paper, which I have loads and loads of---seriously---I could probably wallpaper my house with the stuff---I love it so much!!! Ha!

I was also inspired by a sketch and video created by Angie over at chic'n scratch. Click HERE to check out her post.

Now let's take a look at what I created:

My husband really enjoys whiskey...smoky scotch in particular. So that got me to thinking that these Tartan No. 2 patterned papers from Carta Bella would pair up perfectly with the Whiskey Business stamp set from Stampin' Up :)

I had so much fun making this card that I couldn't resist making another...using 4 of the tartan patterns instead of 2.

Which one do you like better?

Thanks for visiting!!! I really appreciate it!

Have a wonderful day!

Tony's 50th Birthday

We recently celebrated my husband's 50th birthday!!! So much fun!!! And of course such an extra special occasion deserves an extra special handmade card :)

The beautiful silhouette images in the Color Layering Pier At The Lake stamp set by Hero Arts are a perfect fit for my avid outdoorsman (and his trusty partner...our lab, Pepper...wink)! I recently saw a video by Gina K where she tore two strips of Masking Magic (Gina K) and ink blended in between. I loved the effect and was inspired to try out that same technique as the starting point for my card. After ink blending my background I left the Masking Magic in place and stamped my silhouette images. I also added some water ripples using a stamp from another Hero Arts set called Color Layering Mountains At The Lake. I removed the Masking Magic, added the sentiment (from Script Sentiments by Erin Lee Creative), mounted the finished panel to a slightly larger black panel, and adhered that to a blank white card base.

I had such a great time creating this card!!! And...my husband went crazy for it!!! Since it features Hero Arts products I'm going to link it up over at Stay Crafty With a Blog Named Hero February Challenge: Anything Goes. The challenge is open until March 10th so be sure to check it out!

Also thought I'd share a few photos from our snowy birthday celebration adventure:
