Merry Little Christmas

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm playing along with the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: "Let It Snow!" As you all know...I love snow...and especially during the holiday season!!!

Here's my card:

I absolutely ADORE Gus and Gertie from Taylored Expressions! Here they are on one of their "Holiday Adventures"----so super cute and totally festive! And I think the sentiments in this set are really sweet as well :)

I created the snowy backdrop with the Falling Snow stencil from Simon Says Stamp, added a die-cut snow drift (MFT), stamped the snow drift with a sentiment (Taylored Expressions) and then added Gus and Gertie to the scene. This is one of the card designs I'm snail mailing to family and friends this year, so I made sure I kept it simple to avoid extra postage.

I hope you're having a great week so far!

Thanks for visiting!!!

Thanks

Hello there, crafty friends! I'm super excited to be the Guest Designer for this week's CASology Challenge!!! BIG THANKS to Melissa and the DT for having me join them!!!

The cue word this time around is "wheat":

Here's my card:

Design Defined: Keep it CAS with a simple color scheme and minimal embellishments.

As soon as I saw the cue word I thought of the wheat image in the Give Thanks stamp set from Concord and 9th. I recently purchased the Concord and 9th inks, and I love them!!! Here I've used Buttercup and (of course) Wheat :) After stamping the wheat images, I added the sentiment in black ink and die-cut the panel using Crimped Frames (The Greetery). I punched a couple of tiny holes on either side of the wheat stalks and tied on some thin rustic jute twine. Then I adhered the completed panel to a kraft card front.

I hope you like what I've created and feel inspired to play along this week!

Thanks for visiting!

Have a fabulous day!!!

25 Days Of Christmas Tags {The Greetery}

Happy Friday! I'm SO EXCITED to be guesting today for the 10th Annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags event!!! Big THANKS to my sweet friend, Tracey, for inviting me to participate!

Today we're featuring one of my favorite companies, The Greetery!!!

I recently saw some wood slice ornaments at Hobby Lobby that had buffalo plaid centers and woodland critter silhouettes on them. I took that inspiration and put my own spin on it by creating some personalized tags for my parents' Christmas gifts :)

I am so in love with these Wood Slice Dies from The Greetery!!! They're so simple yet so perfect!!! I topped them with the Pine Bough BotaniCuts, some jute rope and a couple of jingle bells. I cut the pine boughs from green cardstock and then used an ink dauber to add some Distress Oxide Ink to the edges---this was a great tip that I learned in one of Betsy's videos, and I absolutely love the effect!

I hope you like my creations and feel inspired to join us! You can find all of the details on Tracey's blog HERE.

And remember...if you play along, there are LOTS of fabulous prizes up for grabs!!! Check out all of these amazing sponsors!

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes

Happy Monday! Today I'm sharing a project I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - "Thanks/Thanksgiving" :)

Because of the pandemic situation we won't be able to gather with our mountain neighbor friends for the annual Friendsgiving celebration this year. So, I thought I'd make some little gifts to leave in their parcel boxes instead.

I made 6 of these boxes with the help of a video tutorial by Sam over at www.pootles.co.uk. She's always sharing fun gift packaging ideas, and her YouTube videos are fabulous! This box is her "Yankee Candle Small Jar Box" which measures 2.5" x 2.5" x 3.5". I didn't put Yankee Candles in mine...but rather these Harvest Spice candles that I found at Hobby Lobby:

I decorated the boxes with patterned paper and some tags I made using the Top Down Autumn Day Stamp and Cut Combo (The Greetery). I was pretty excited about how they turned out!!! I hope our friends love them!

Thanks for visiting!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Today I'm sharing some Halloween Test Tube Candy Box Holders that I created! I'm linking them up to the current "Anything Goes" Challenge at Simon Says Stamp :)

These were so much fun to make!!!!

I started out with a template that I found on Lisa Somerville's site (www.lisasomerville.com), but it turned out to be too small for the particular test tubes that I had purchased at Michaels. So, I revised the box template to fit my needs. They're a bit different from Lisa's but still super cute!!!

I decorated the boxes and filled the tubes with Halloween candy :) I left the back panel of the boxes blank so there was room to write in "to/from" and a short message.

Thanks for visiting!

Have a spooktacular day!!!

Congrats. You Did It!

Popping in really quickly today to share a card I made for the current CASology Challenge. This time around the cue word is "sunset."

Here's my card:

I layered up the Cloud Stencil from MFT and one of the Masking Rectangle Stencils from Taylored Expressions. Then I blended Scatttered Straw, Carved Pumpkin and Barn Door Distress Oxide Inks (Ranger) to create a sunset background for the airplane silhouette.

Mailing this off to our oldest nephew who just got his wings!!! He's now officially a Naval Aviator with the US Marine Corps!!! We're so proud of him!

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Thanks

Happy Saturday! Today I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches :)

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

These Leaf Silhouette Dies from Papertrey Ink are an oldie but goodie :) I chose an earthy color palette for this first card (Ocean Tides, Soft Stone, and Canyon Clay). I'm really loving that combo!

This layout was so super fun that I just had to make another card in a different color combo. For the second card I went with a brighter look:

Which one do you like better?

Thanks for visiting!

Sending Hugs and Get Well Soon

Today I'm playing along with the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge :)

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

I love the little critters in Lawn Fawn's Get Well Before 'N Afters set! So cute!!! My neighbor girlfriend, Kim, fractured her patella (yikes!) and is recovering from surgery, so I'll be delivering this to her mailbox very soon. Hoping it makes her smile :) She's an avid hiker and is already going stir crazy just one week out of surgery, so I added a sentiment inside:

My dad also had surgery earlier this week (for carpal tunnel), so I made another card to snail mail to him. The layout is the same, but I changed up the images :)

Hope he likes it!

I had so much fun making these cards!!!

Thanks for visiting! And please pray and send positive energy to our state of Colorado. The fires are still burning and growing. It's really scary! They've even closed the National Forests in our county and surrounding counties in an effort to keep people safe and prevent more fires from starting. The forecast is predicting snow for us for this weekend, so everybody do your snow dance!!! We need moisture!!!

You've Been Boo'd

Hello there! Today I'm playing along with the current Just Us Girls Challenge: Plaid.

I recently stumbled upon a tutorial by Julie (The Paper Pixie) for making these super fun Halloween Door Hangers! I was so excited to give it a try! Here's how it turned out:

I love these!!! And they're so much fun to make! The compartment measures 3" x 3" x 2" so it can hold a variety of treats :)

Like Julie says in her tutorial, these would be great to hang on neighbors' doors as little Halloween surprises!

With that in mind...I made some more...same template, just dressed up differently ;)

I'll call these my "adult version" (see "treat" idea in the photo below). After all, kids aren't the only ones who enjoy Halloween :)

You can find Julie's tutorial by clicking HERE. I'd highly recommend her blog and YouTube channel. She creates loads of clever projects!

Hope you're enjoying your weekend!!!

Smile

Hello there! Today I'm playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme this time around is "Anything Goes"---YAY!

I recently came across Paula Dobson's tutorial for tea bag and coffee holders on YouTube and decided to give it a go :) Here's how it turned out:

Lawn Fawn's Love You A Latte stamps and dies were perfect for dressing up the little holders, which were very simple to put together :) I tied the tops together with some jute twine and a felt leaf (I've literally been hoarding these things for YEARS!!! Time to put them to use---ha!)

I decided to make mine tea and chocolate square holders. The tea bag is in the front pocket and the chocolate is in the back pocket. Here's a look at the back:

I also inserted a small blank piece of cardstock in the back as a place to write a message. My color combo came from the contents of the package. Here's a look at all the pieces:

These were so much fun to make that I ended up creating a bunch more!

I REALLY wanted to use the to-go cup in the stamp set, so that sparked the idea of making a few more without the tea and chocolates (to use as gift card holders):

I still put a blank piece of cardstock in the back pocket as a place to write a message (and you could still put a chocolate in there too---why not, right?!?!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!
