Sending You Love and Strength

Today I'm playing along in a new-to-me challenge: Daring Cardmakers

This was just the challenge I needed to get my mojo going. A dear friend recently asked me to make some handmade cards for her to send to four of her friends who are currently battling cancer. The description of Viva Magenta on the Daring Cardmakers Challenge blog prompted me to check out the description of this color on the Pantone website. You can read more about it HERE but not only do they say that this color promotes joy and optimism but they also say it's "expressive of a new signal of strength" and refer to Viva Magenta as "brave and fearless." I found this all so inspiring and immediately got to work on a Viva Magenta card. Here's my creation:

The butterfly is hot foiled---LOVE the shimmer and shine!!!

Color was applied to the hot foiled butterfly image using blending brushes, the coordinating butterfly stencils and inks (all supplies are listed at the bottom of my post).

Thank you so much for visiting.

Have a great day!

I Flipping Adore You

Working on some Valentine's Day creations and playing along with two card challenges: (1) Day of the Month Card Club - "Squirrel Appreciation Day" and (2) Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - "Too Cute!"

Apparently January 21st is National Squirrel Day in the United States :) Who knew?!?!!! But when I saw this challenge prompt I immediately thought of the totally adorable Jump For Joy stamp set from Neat and Tangled.

Here's what I made:

That soaring squirrel ALWAYS brings a smile to my face!!! Soooo stinkin' cute!!!!

These images remind me of my niece :) She loves to jump on the trampoline and she frequently convinces Aunt Lisa to join her whenever I'm visiting! FUN!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a fantastic weekend!!!

Happy Birthday

Happy New Year! Hope 2023 is off to a great start for all of you!

Today I'm playing along with two super fun challenges: (1) AAA Birthday - "Anything Goes" and (2) The Paper Players - "Tag, You're It!"

I wanted to create an extra special card for my neighbor friend who just celebrated her 50th birthday :) Here's what I made:

I used the Art Gallery stamp set and Floral Gallery dies from Stampin' Up in combination with an assortment of Catherine Pooler inks (my favorite!) to create a sweet little flower arrangement. After all...who doesn't love to receive flowers on their birthday?!?!!...especially with the cold, snowy, winter weather we've been having here in the mountains ;)

The white background panel was embossed with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder from Stampin' Up. I absolutely LOVE the look of flowers and woodgrain! Just something about it that makes me so very happy :) The tiny tag (from the Gift Bag and Tag set by The Stamp Market) was stamped with a sentiment from Beautiful Bow (Avery Elle). This is an oldie but goodie stamp set---one I still reach for all the time---especially when I need a smaller sentiment.

I hope you like my card for today! It's been ages since I've posted here on the blog. I made LOTS and LOTS of things during the holiday season but just never had a chance to share them here. I also FINALLY opened an Etsy Shop to sell my handmade cards!!! It's going really well so far! I'm learning a lot and having tons of fun with it! You can find the link to my shop in the sidebar of my blog. I'd love for you to check it out and let me know what you think :)

Thanks so much for visiting!!!

 Have a fabulous week!
