Candy Canes

It's snowing here in the mountains, and it's so beautiful and festive!!! Perfect atmosphere for creating some holiday cards!!!

Here are a couple of cards I made using the current sketch over at Global Design Project:

These cards feature some super cute elements from the Candy Cane Lane Cardmaking Kit by Taylored Expressions as well as some fabulous designer series paper from Painted Christmas by Stampin' Up and some gorgeous die-cut pine sprigs from Botanicuts: Pine Bough by The Greetery.

I owe the color choices for the candy canes (Cranberry and Evergreen from Concord and 9th) to my husband who suggested I make them look like the cherry candy canes made by Hammond's Candy Factory here in Colorado :) Yummy!!! Which reminds me...I definitely need to order some of these delicious candies for the holidays soon!!!

And here's my second card---same design, just changed up the sentiment---

I had so much fun making these cards!!!

Thanks for visiting!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Boo

Halloween is just one week away, so perfect timing for playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Spooky :)

Here's my card featuring some fa-boo-lous goodies from Taylored Expressions!

I absolutely LOVE all of these swirling ghosts and the expressions on their faces!!! Cuteness overload!!! And this background stamp is super fun to ink up in a single color OR in multiple colors (like I did here)---I saw Taylor do this in one of her videos and thought it looked amazing, so I decided to give it a try---so happy with the results!!!

Do you celebrate Halloween where you live? We don't have any trick-or-treaters up here in the mountains, but I enjoy sending Halloween cards to family and delivering goodie bags filled with homemade dog treats to the mailboxes of Pepper's friends :) We also made a trip to a local pumpkin patch and decorated some pumpkins! So festive and lots of fun!!! I'll share some photos of those things soon!

Thanks for visiting! Have a great day!!!

Ahoy Matey...

Today I'm playing along with Double "D" Challenges: Octoberfest Challenge. I decided to go the Halloween route for this one :)

Here's my card:

I LOVE this color combo for Halloween!!! It was inspired by a card that Amy Tsuruta posted using Catherine Pooler colors: Sangria, Pink Champagne, and Orange Peel (click HERE to see her fabulous card). I have quite a few Catherine Pooler inks but I'm still working to build my collection, and I don't have those particular colors yet. So, instead I went for some similar Stampin' Up cardstock colors that I have in my stash: Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride, and Pumpkin Pie (I also tossed in Soft Stone from Papertrey Ink for my 4th strip).

The inside sentiment says: "Arrrr ye ready for treats?!"

I'm going to send this to my 10 year old niece for Halloween! I hope she loves it!

Thanks for visiting!!!

Have a great day!

Ghost Trio

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm playing along with Make the Cards Challenge: Halloween :) For this card I've paired up an ink blended background, the Winter Forest Cover Die (Mama Elephant) and some absolutely adorable ghosts from Ghost Gang (Taylored Expressions).

I'm not positive, but I think the "Boo" sentiment die is also from Taylored Expressions (a freebie from ages and ages ago). I'm tempted to make another card using it and adding some googly eyes to the o's. Doesn't it look like those o's should be eyes??? Ha!

Truly Grateful...

Today I'm playing along with The Four Seasons Challenge. Just look at this gorgeous inspiration board!!!

Since the aspen trees are exploding with color here in the mountains I couldn't resist creating another autumn leaves card :)

I love the Welcoming Woods stamp set from Stampin' Up! Those aspen tree trunks are so realistic looking and I love how the set includes leaves and snowflakes so it works for anytime of year :)

Many people think that aspen leaves only turn yellow in autumn, but we actually see quite a bit of orange and even some red. Here are a couple of photos from yesterday's walk around the mountainhood.

Hope you're having a fabulous weekend!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
