Look For The Rainbows

Today I'm sharing some tags I created that were inspired by this fabulous sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches:

I absolutely LOVE the Be The Rainbow stamp set (by Emily Loggans for Gina K Designs)!!! The rainbow images are super cute and the sentiments are so uplifting---just what we need during these crazy times :)

Here's the tag I designed featuring this set:

...and here's a look at one in each color:

I made two dozen tags in total (six of each color). I'm going to attach the tags to clear bags filled with Skittles candies and deliver them to my neighbor friends' mailboxes. Just a little something to hopefully brighten their day :)

Thanks for visiting!

I hope you're enjoying the weekend!!!

Hiking...

Happy Friday! Today I'm playing along with the current Time Out Challenge. The theme this time around is "peaceful." If you've been following me for a while you know that I spend a lot of time in the outdoors---hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, etc. The mountains feed my soul and being outside brings me peace of mind.

Here's what I created:

I'm sending this one off to my hiking buddy, Abby, for her birthday. We usually hike quite a bit together during the summers but due to COVID-19 we haven't been able to get together at all. I hope she likes this card!

Thanks for visiting!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Another Birthday? No Probllama.

Hello there! Today I'm playing along with the bright and beautiful color challenge over at Sunday Stamps. Check out these gorgeous, happy colors!!!

Here's my card:

My neighbor friend requested a custom birthday card for her cousin who's turning 50 in August. I asked her for some input about her cousin's interests to help guide me in my creative process and learned that one of the things her cousin loves is southwestern style. That (and the color combo in the challenge graphic above) became the inspiration for this card :) I think it turned out pretty darn cute!

Thanks for visiting!

Have a great day!!!

Happy Holidays

Today I'm sharing a card I created for Week One of the "Bringing the Cheer Challenge," a super fun month-long holiday card challenge that's happening over on Instagram. Click HERE to learn more details about how  to play along :)

As you can see above, the prompt for Week One is to create a holiday project from non-holiday products. Here's what I came up with:

I made the background panel by stamping the Sketched Stripes Background (Concord and 9th) in Grass Skirt (Catherine Pooler). Then, I turned the background stamp 180 degrees and stamped it again in Rockin' Red (Catherine Pooler). To finish, I turned the background stamp 90 degrees and stamped it in Tuxedo Black Memento (Tsukineko). The bear is from the Floral Print Silhouette Dies Set (Concord and 9th) and the sentiment is from Happy Happy Happy (Lawn Fawn).

I had so much fun making this card!!! Thanks to Karen, Kelly and Amy for hosting this challenge! So grateful for the encouragement to think outside of the box!

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend! Stay safe and healthy!

Sending Sunshine And Rainbows

The theme for the current Just Us Girls Challenge is "RAINBOWS." Oh my heart!!! I am a lover of rainbows :) They make me so happy!!! I even have rainbow trail shoes!!! They're a Merrell design that was inspired by Rainbow Mountain in Peru. Gorgeous! My husband calls me "the rainbow hunter" ;) In the summer months we frequently get late-afternoon thunderstorms, and I'm always running around looking for rainbows---ha!

Here's my card:

I was so excited to finally have a chance to ink up the Brighter Days stamp set from Concord and 9th! It's so super cute and totally fun!

I used Coral Bliss, Minty Mint and Volcano Lake (Altenew) for my rainbow colors---I wanted something more non-traditional. And I kept the rest of the card black and white so the rainbow would really pop :) What do you think???

While I was at it...I made a second version...same layout, different color combo:

These are pretty much my "go-to" rainbow colors these days. But, now I'm thinking I want to make some using bold primary colors...red, yellow, blue...hmm. Will probably give that a go later today :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Heading out to take the pup for a walk :)

Have a wonderful day!!!

Happy Everything

Have you ever made a bridge card? A few months ago I watched a couple of videos by two super talented crafters: Natasha Valkovskaya and Caly Person demonstrating this technique, and I added it to my "list of things to try." Well, the current AAA Birthday Challenge to create a 3D project was just the kick in the pants I needed to make that happen ;)

Check out my first bridge card:

This was so much fun to make!!! I'll link the videos below as they are awesome and provide perfect instructions and lots of tips for making these kinds of cards :)

I love that they fold down flat and can still be mailed in a regular A2 size envelope. And when they're popped up they're so super cute!!! Here's a look at this one standing up:

Since I enjoyed the process of making this one so much I decided to make another with the same layout but a different color combo:

And here's a closer look:

Here are the links to the videos that inspired my creations:

I hope you'll give it a try! Let me know if you do!

Thinking Of You

Today I'm sharing a card I made using some new-to-me stamps/inks/dies and this great sketch from CAS on Friday Challenge 183:

I love the Build-A-Flower: Columbine set from Altenew! It's absolutely gorgeous! My husband and I live in Colorado, and the Columbine is our state flower. July also happens to be the time of year when we see these beauties blooming in the mountain meadows and alongside the trails. They're stunning and so inspiring!

(Note: I took the above photo in July 2019 on the Arapaho Pass Trail---one of our favorites!)

Here's my creation:
