Birthday Sunflowers

Happy Saturday! Today I'm sharing a card I created using the sketch over at Global Design Project :)

I die-cut the sunflowers from seed paper that I had sitting around in my craft studio (leftovers from creating my cousin's wedding invitations YEARS ago!!!) It adds a really lovely texture to the flowers!

I'll be snail mailing this one to my grandma for her 92nd birthday in late June :) I hope it brightens her day and makes her smile!!!

Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for visiting!

Enjoy Every Little Moment

Happy Tuesday! The current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is "anything goes," so I'm popping in today to share a birthday card I created. This one is for one of my neighbor girlfriends whose birthday is Friday. She's an avid hiker so I thought this would be perfect for her!

This Designer Series Paper pack from Stampin' Up had my name written all over it! I liked it so much I grabbed two packs!!! It's full of mountain scenes and it's absolutely gorgeous! Also makes for quick and easy cards----this card is simply designer series paper, die-cuts, and a sentiment stamp---LOVE!!!

I added a bit of sparkle to the moon with an aqua shimmer pen (tough to capture in the photo but shimmers beautifully in person).

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a fabulous day!!!

Birthday Wishes

Today I'm playing along with Seize The Birthday Challenge :) I skipped the toppings this time around and just went with the "Anything Goes Birthday" option ;)

Here's my card:

This is a new-to-me stamp set from Stampin' Up called Sea Turtle. I absolutely LOVE sea turtles!!! I think they are such magical creatures and I literally squeal with delight every single time we encounter them on snorkeling adventures!!!

My sister-in-law is also a huge fan of anything ocean or beach related. She's about to turn 60 later this week, so I just dropped this in the snail mail for her. I hope she likes it!

I had so much fun making this card that I made a second version too...

On this one I used a darker solid background panel and some Halo embossing powder (WOW! inspired by...Catherine Pooler) on the bubbles. The iridescent sparkle is so fabulous in person!!!

Thanks so much for visiting!

Have a wonderful week!!!

AAA Cards Challenge 240 - Pink Birthday

Happy Sunday! I'm so excited to be the Guest Designer for AAA Cards Challenge - Game 240 - Pink Birthday!!! Thank you so much to the team for having me!!!

I was inspired by not only the theme of "pink birthday" but also the balloons in the inspiration photos :) I immediately thought of an older but fabulous stamp set that I have in my stash called Birthday Balloons (Papertrey Ink). Here's my card:

I inked the balloons up in Ballet Slipper and Honeysuckle (Concord & 9th), stamping two directly onto the focal panel and then die-cutting the third one so I could pop it up. The "happy birthday" sentiment string is part of a coordinating stamp set called Birthday Strings (Papertrey Ink). I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the confetti but it was challenging to capture in the photos.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out and plan to make some more cards using different colors and some of the other sentiment strings.Yay!

I had such a great time playing along with this challenge and hope you'll join in on the fun!!! Can't wait to see what you create!!!

Have a fantastic day!!!

You're A Good Egg

Today I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #585 :)

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

One of my husband's colleagues recently gave us some eggs from her chickens, so I wanted to send her a thank you note. I knew I definitely wanted to use the Good Egg by Brandi (Essentials By Ellen) stamp set and coordinating dies to make my card. And Judy's sketch made me think about the Watercolor Stripes Cover Die from Altenew that's been in my stash for ages but hasn't seen nearly enough love. I decided to try die-cutting it from woodgrain cardstock to create the look of wooden planks. What do you think? Success? I layered it up with a piece of sunshine rays patterned paper and that set the scene for my cute little hen.

I had so much fun making this card!!! I hope my husband's colleague likes it :)

Thank you for visiting! Have a fantastic weekend!!!

Chef

Hello there! Today I'm playing along with this fabulous sketch over at The Paper Players Challenge:

Here's my take:

A friend of mine (whom I've known since kindergarten) requested a couple of custom cards recently :) One of those cards is for her son who will be graduating from high school in June. After graduation he's going on to study to be a pastry chef. I instantly thought of this Recipe For Happiness stamp set from MFT. Fun!!!

The school colors at the university he'll be attending are red, gray, and white, so I incorporated those into the design.

I hope she likes this card option...but I have another just in case ;) I'll share the second option later this week.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Have a great day!!!

The World Is Full Of Amazing Things

Playing along with a couple of challenges today: (1) The Male Room Challenge: Stencils And/Or Dies and (2) Never-Before-Used-Schtuff Challenge :)

This was my first time using the Moon Bay Stencil Trio from Waffle Flower. I love the beautiful, peaceful scene this set of stencils creates. However...I was SOOO indecisive about my color choices. Anyone else struggle with that when it comes to stencil sets??? I have such a tough time visualizing how it's going to come together in the end. Well...after several attempts I was pleased with how this one turned out and decided it would be a good card to send to our nephew who was recently deployed to eastern Africa. What do you think?

I hope he'll be excited to get some happy mail from back home.

Thanks for visiting!

Have a great day!!!
